Personal Experiences of Dining Room Steward Holland America Line

Very impressive. In Great Lenteng another story. We must learn from morning till night interrupted lunch and dinner. Boring and stressful, so I could get migraines. But because the motivation to work on the ship so passionate, does not feel waktupun passed.

After Lenteng Great was the anticipation. Waiting is not fun work. One by one we get a call transfer to work, until finally my turn came, too. We were all sent to the ss Rotterdam for this ship to ship for the rookie trainer like us.

Work hard to become a part of our daily life. The first weeks into hell, our seniors made hazing As with the material. Looks confused and panicked look very clear in our faces. We also have not done mind set adjustment that is Indonesia with a much different environment. Sweat of our bodies is always flooded. Very tiring.

Working hours adjusted dining room steward with meals. We had to work since breakfast, lunch, dinner until late snack. The time between the hours of eating the rest of our time. Although sometimes taken at that time we also have to work, for example afternoon tea after a working lunch. Working at afternoon tea is very frustrating because we work from lunch and afternoon tea connected directly prepare dinner for the work .. I hate it!

Working dinner very draining, especially for those who work in the afternoon tea was truly exhausted slump Why, because we will face two periods dinner from 5:30 hours until 10:30 that night. So after dinner tired faces painted on each dining room steward, especially the new kids like us. After that a late snack for our dinner in the mess room, with our limp into the cabin to lay down so that tomorrow morning we are ready to sweat again. We worked on average for 11 hours a day, 7 days per week during the contract unless it is sick and the doctor recommended it to istrirahat.
